The Quickening

Reed has never met another human.

Raised by an alien researcher on a remote station designed to feel like paradise, he has spent his life as a valued curiosity — the subject of careful study, the recipient of genuine love, and a member of a species he knows almost nothing about. He dismisses the strange perceptions that surface without warning: moments when the world briefly organizes itself into patterns too beautiful and too vast for his mind to hold. Flashes of wind and rain from places he has never been. The persistent sense that something is missing from every room he enters.

Then he meets Lyra — another human, the first he has ever encountered — and everything he has dismissed as imagination becomes undeniable. Something is waking up in both of them. Something their caretakers cannot explain, their captors want to control, and their enemies will kill to prevent.

When Lyra is taken to a research facility where humans are studied through methods that range from clinical to catastrophic, Reed follows — leaving the only home he has ever known, stepping into a galaxy that considers his species a relic, and discovering that the bond between humanity and its lost homeworld is not a metaphor. It is alive. It is mutual. And it has been waiting for him longer than he can imagine.

The Quickening is the first book in the Seedfall trilogy — a story about finding your people, hearing your planet call you home, and learning that the most powerful thing in the universe is not a weapon but a willingness to belong.

Understory

They escaped. Now they have to survive what comes next.

Reed and the humans who fled Krell's facility are free — but freedom in a galaxy that treats their species as a commodity is its own kind of danger. As Reed works to find and protect other scattered humans, the connections between them deepen into something none of them expected: a living network of shared awareness that is more than the sum of its parts.

But Confluence at scale is not simply individual Confluence multiplied. The network develops emergent properties — a collective consciousness that no single member controls and that raises questions none of them are prepared to answer. How do you maintain individuality inside something that functions as a whole? How do you protect a community when the community itself is becoming something new?

And in the spaces between stars, something ancient is stirring. The force that drove humanity to extinction once before has been patient. It has been watching. And the scattered humans building their fragile network have just made themselves visible.

Understory is the second book in the Seedfall trilogy — a story about building something worth protecting, confronting an enemy older than your species' recorded history, and discovering that the hardest part of connection isn't finding it. It's holding it together.

Landfall, Book Three of the Seedfall

Book Three · October 2026

Landfall

The road home leads through everything that drove them away.

The scattered humans have built their network. They have faced the enemy that lurks in the spaces between dimensions. They have learned what Confluence costs and what it gives and that the two are inseparable. Now there is only one thing left to do.

Go home.

Earth has been waiting — healed, defended, transformed into something more beautiful and more dangerous than the world humanity left behind. The planet's consciousness has been preparing for this return for centuries. The Primordials — beings Earth grew specifically to meet human consciousness halfway — have been grieving for just as long. The co-evolutionary relationship that was interrupted before its first full sentence was spoken is ready to begin again.

But the return is not simply a homecoming. The Zegrath — the parasitic entities that fed on human consciousness for millennia — will not allow their food source to complete the transformation that would end them permanently. The final confrontation is not a war. It is something no species in the galaxy has ever attempted: a planetary-scale act of Confluence that will determine whether humanity's oldest relationship can be restored — and what both partners will become if it is.

Seedfall is the final book in the Seedfall trilogy — a story about going back to where you started and finding it changed, healing a wound that is older than civilization, and answering the question at the heart of every exile's journey: what happens when you finally walk through the door?
